If you’re looking for something different, go two-piece. I didn’t like the idea of spending so much money on an item of clothing that I was going to wear only once. I wanted to be able to rewear part of my wedding outfit again and again so I bought a versatile skirt (from Juliette Hogan) and went bridal on the top. Wedding was two months ago, April 2017.

This top is so comfortable. It has been taken in a little bit, and the lace bottom was lengthened. Do up with buttons and loops on the back. Pair the top with whatever you want on the bottom! The belt was handmade (also from Hera), and is not attached to the top. I fastened it on with pins on the day and tied it in a bow at the back. Can wear the top with or without belt but in my case, I wanted a belt to tie the colour in with the skirt.

Another reason to go two-piece - the drycleaning is really cheap. I took it to the best drycleaning place in Auckland (Regal), went for the Couture Bridal service clean, and it was less than $40! (A dress costs hundreds!).
