The Dress

Beautiful dress purchased from a vintage retailer in Chicago last year. The dress was estimated to be made in the late 1960s and is approximately 50 years old.
Dress fit perfectly and was not let out at all. I am 5'7", small bust and wider hips, narrow shoulders. There is no designer or size label on this dress, but I am a size 10.

The only alterations made were minor: lovely beaded sash was added to create the empire waistline (see photos for detail), stiching on the bust was smoothed out, small snaps were added behind straps, which wrap around your bra and slip to keep them in place and prevent them from showing.

Dress has a vintage, floral lace pattern and a satiny material underneath. You will need a slip as material is a bit sheer. I wore a knee-length skirt slip and a cami.
The shop's tailor lowered the back of the cami so it would not show under the dress; you may need to do the same as I couldn't find a full slip that wouldn't show.
