About the Dress

Purchased at a Kleinfeld sample sale in 2018, boxed and preserved shortly thereafter, and professionally cleaned in July 2026, I wore this lovely dress once, for 45 minutes, at my church ceremony. Michelle Roth is sold exclusively at Kleinfeld Manhattan, so this isn't a gown you'll come across on other racks.

The dress is strapless with a soft sweetheart neckline. The bodice is built entirely from asymmetric draped pleats that wrap diagonally across the bust and torso: all the interest is in the construction. There is no beading, lace, or appliqué anywhere on the gown. The pleating continues past the natural waist and over the hip to a dropped waistline that sits low, which lengthens the torso and gives the skirt a dramatic release point.

From that seam the skirt opens into a full gathered flare with real volume, finishing in a sweeping small train. The taffeta holds its shape and moves beautifully: it has body without needing a hoop or heavy petticoat underneath.

Center back zipper closure.

This one is for a bride who wants clean architectural lines and a strong silhouette instead of sparkle. It photographs beautifully in a church or any formal venue.
