This is a classic A-line strapless silhouette in mikado silk. The bodice is elegantly designed with asymmetrical pleating and in the back you will get to show off mikado silk buttoning from top to bottom running down the whole chapel-length train.

Extra details: hidden pockets and a built-in bustle! The bow is detachable and can also be fastened as part of the bustle, adding both function and versatility. I love the versatility on this dress.

Wearing this gown made me feel like an elegant, timeless princess. It’s a classic piece that will never go out of style, and I hope to pass it on to someone who will love it just as much as I did!

Alterations

  • Originally marketed as size 4, but I took it in to make it fit a size 0-2
  • Please see my personal measurements to get a feel for the sizing on the bodice
  • Original boning and support band is still intact
  • There was also some hemming done to the length to fit my height and heels
  • The bow was also modified to be detachable, giving you the option to wear it or remove it, and it can even be incorporated into the bustle for the train
  • Originally, the bow sat at the back where the bustle is (as shown on the designer’s website), but I had it altered so the bustle is separate from the bow
  • This allows you to place the bow at the waist whether the train is fully extended or bustled, adding extra versatility to the look
  • Bust cups were added for extra support but can be easily removed if desired
