About the Dress

The Story
This beautiful dress is over 20 years old but it is timeless and stunning. The style is simple, classic & classy, and as one guest commented to me on my wedding day… ‘you should be on the cover of Vogue Wedding!’ So humbled…
A little piece of Australian fashion history, which has gone on to become couture and still thriving currently! The dress was designed and custom-made by Personalised Weddings Couture in Earlwood.
The dress is actually made up as a top and skirt (brilliant for ease of movement, and for the many hugs required on the day).
It is a size 10, with ample bust and small waist.
It is Pure White 100% Duchess Satin.
The top is strapless, with a wide overlap across the bust, and has beautiful hand-beaded Swarovski crystal detailing.
The skirt is full-length A-line, and drops into a small round train at the back.
The back detailing is elegant buttoning.
The complete wedding outfit comes with a cape, a small pouch handbag, and a garter, all made of Duchess Satin.
It also comes with two veils, one short and one long, which can be worn together or separate.
There is also an elegant groom’s white tie by Messini disimor included (see pic).
I stand at 165cm without heels and wore the dress with medium size heels.
Please note that all measurements are a rough estimate, as my body has changed a little since then.
It is a timeless design, but with plenty of fabric & scope for alteration into something more personal for you, should you wish to change something.
The whole Wedding outfit was professionally dry-cleaned at the time, and stored in blue paper & boxed. It has been in its proper box from the dry-cleaners since. I literally just peaked inside again, and it is still white as white!
It is in excellent condition, and the original garment bag it came in by Personalised Weddings, is also included. It looks new & unworn, as I only wore it for the big day. But as it’s been in (sealed) storage for over 2 decades, I would still recommend dry cleaning before your big day.
