Galia Lahav, Maya - Custom Made

The Galia Lahav Maya dress in Ivory was an absolute dream come true, and I want another bride to have this moment as well, without the original price tag.

I loved every second in this fitted, semi-sheer mermaid gown, featuring one of the most recognizable detail of this dress which are the 3D embroidered flowers over silk tulle.

The elegant off-the-shoulder straps can be worn down for a romantic feel and then put up for a “second look” or additional comfort while dancing.

The Maya dress also features a low illusion back, and sheer inserts on the side and a dramatic caviar tulle and organza train. Additionally, there are pearls around the sweetheart bust of the dress and a light shimmer can be seen throughout the gown.

Please note that this is an exclusive version of the Maya, as there is a panel covering where the sheer panels would go all of the way down as seen on the nude colored Maya, and the bottom part of the dress features organza to have a full and beautiful shape to complete the mermaid silhouette (which can be removed). This gown was purchased at Bridal Reflections on 5th Avenue in NYC, which carries this exclusive Maya.

Alterations:
Alterations were done with Bridal Reflections as well, to ensure that the gown was worked on by a seamstress who constantly works with Galia Lahav gowns. Cups were added for a push-up effect and a few flowers were added strategically in the sheer panel area so that underwear can be worn with the gown. A bustle was added and is shown in the pictures added.

*Please note that you can take this dress in if your measurements are smaller, the cups can be removed, the side panels can be removed to have the sheerness go to the bottom, and the organza layer at the bottom of the dress that creates the fuller effect can also be removed if you want it to look like the other Maya dress.*

No other dupe for this dress can replicate the beauty and the detail of this design! Trust me - I tried on more dresses than I’d like to admit. This gown is sensual and exudes glamour, unrivaled beauty and femininity. I wore it from 3pm until midnight and was absolutely comfortable and felt beautiful the entire time.

Care After The Wedding:
This gown was immediately dry cleaned by the best in the tri-state area - Moline Kronberg in Montclair, NJ. It was not shipped out to a shop where thousands of dresses come in and attention to detail is missed. I wanted the next owner of my gown to have every single detail still in tact, with no flowers missing or pearls accidentally removed.

Galia Lahav dress size: 42 to fit to the widest point (hips). I am normally an 8 in pants.

Bust measurement at first fitting was ordered as a 37 in order to alter as needed; bra size 34.
