The Dress

Oh, what a dream! This gown shipped from Italy to Norway, in which I picked it up from my florist for my wedding day, and then it flew back home with me to the US. It’s been around the world and is now ready to go to its new home.

Vivienne Westwood HEAVY SILK SATIN COCOTTE GOWN

The dress is a Vivienne Westwood Cocotte gown / Item Code:75I-XGP012 standard size UK 8/ US 4 , it fits tightly around the waist and bust due to the boned internal corset. I was afraid that the corset would be uncomfortable as it was quite tight on me but it was so comfortable to wear. Vivienne Westwood sure knows how to make corsets! I assume that its because of the elastic material that is included in the corset and because of the fact that the corset stop just before the waist, which actually gives you the option to sit down and breathe without it being tight. It was just perfect!

The gown is a heavy weight silk and drapes beautifully across the bust and waist. The draping on the lower part of the belly is placed perfectly.
The gown is long as I was over 5.5" including heels, and there is opportunity to both reduce and add to the length depending on wearers height.

Condition
The gown is in good condition, I only wore it for a few hours for photos (I wore a different gown for my actual ceremony.
This GOWN HAS NOT BEEN ALTERED!

The gown has snags on the fabric, As seen in my wedding photos the snags are not noticeable in photos or really in person unless you are very close to the gown. The gown has not been dry-cleaned and needs to be as there are dirt stains INSIDE the bottom of the gown, They are not visible at all from the outside both when worn nor on a hanger. also if you get the gown tailored at all it would I assume cut off the stains.
