The Dress

I purchased this dress used from the original owner. Unfortunately I will not be able to property alter the dress to fit my bust size, which was a risk I knew purchasing the dress, but was willing to take! :) But otherwise the dress is perfect and was exactly what I was looking for. It has a beautiful drape to the fabric and hugs you in all the right places. The back is open and the train is STUNNING. There are also cups invisibly sewn into the bust area so a bra isn't necessary. Here is the original description from the first owner who was so wonderful to work with and who took extremely good care of this dress:

I purchased the "Avalon" by Johanna Johnson at the Flagship store in Paddington, Australia in April 2015 for $4600 AUD ($3255.03 USD).

This glamorous gown is an ivory silk sheath wedding dress with a v-neckline, twisted straps, knee-high front slit, and elegant deep back. The dress comes with ribbons that can be tied onto the shoulder straps for an off-the-shoulder look.

This is a floor-length gown, but has a hook and bustle which makes dancing easier. The photos I posted emphasize my favorite part of this gown: the gorgeous deep back. The beach photos should give you an idea of the height of the slit and the girth of the silk: while it was quite windy on the beach, my dress always beautifully billowed rather than flying away.

While I'm a US size 2 (120 pounds, 5'6''), I had a size 4 made, then had alterations done in-house at Johanna Johnson. I went barefoot on the beach during the ceremony, and wore 4.25" heels during the reception.

My measurements in this dress are: Bust: 85cm Waist: 66 cm Hip: 89 cm Waist to floor: 109 cm

The dress also comes with white gloves to use to prevent any dirt or oil from getting on the dress.

There is one small place at the top of the slit on the inside were some stitching has come undone. This can easily be stitched back together and look good as new.
