The Dress
As soon as I tried the "Amour" dress on at Bergdorf Goodman, I felt like I was glowing from the inside. Light, airy, and soft, but also structured and flattering, it exuded a timeless elegance. I was happy to learn on my wedding day that it was also incredibly fun and easy to dance in.
Constructed from handmade ivory french lace depicting wildflowers, in a soft mermaid/fit and flare silhouette, layered with antique-colored pink cameo (blush), this gown speaks to the deco period with its own modern twists. It has a whimsical train with a seamless bustle.
I wore it once at my wedding in June of 2016, and we had it professionally cleaned immediately afterwards using careful archival techniques. It has been stored in beautiful condition.
Alterations
Hemmed for height and small bust, with cups sewn in. I lost a little weight from the time I bought the dress to the 2nd dress fitting. I was between a US size 6 and 8 when I bought the dress, and by the wedding I was just under a size 6. Overall, without much alteration the dress should be a good fit for someone between in that range of sizes and 5' - 5'2"
