I wore my Eva Lendel Alegra wedding dress with detachable Jess overskirt to my wedding in October 2022 and felt absolutely amazing. I hope that another bride can get the same enjoyment from my dress that I did.

About the dress:

Bought in Sydney. The dress was ordered in a size 8, then altered by Designs by B in Mayfield Newcastle to fit my perfectly. Upon ordering, I requested that the skirt was removed and I ordered a detachable Jess overskirt. I also requested that the bow would be detachable. I had the ends of the bow made longer so they reached the end of the dress (they come quite short stock).

The dress comes in 4 pieces:
- The dress
- The overskirt (detachable)
- The bow (detachable)
- Waist band (detachable)

The dress is extremely versitle and can be worn a number of ways for different looks:
- Worn as a complete set with dress, overskirt and bow
- Worn just with the dress and overskirt (no bow)
- Worn with dress, bow and waist band
- Worn with the dress and bow
- Worn just with the dress

I had the dress professionally dry cleaned by a wedding dress dry cleaner which cost $400. The dress is in perfect condition with no marks.

Alterations

  • I had a fair few alterations done to the dress, totalling $700 to get the dress right
  • The things my alternations lady changed about the dress are listed below:
  • Hemming of the dress itself
  • No hemming was done to the overskirt
  • The dress was taken in around the bust and hips for a smooth finish
  • Structuring was added to the bow so it stood up on the back of the dress
  • The bow comes floppy when purchased and I didn't like this look
  • I wanted the bow to have shape and stand up
  • A small waist band was made from the leftover hem so that once the overskirt was removed, a waist band could still be put on
