This is a unique and beautiful gown made by the renowned New Zealand designer, Rue De Seine. "The dress is 100% hand made Cotton Battenburg lace gown with a 100% Silk Crepe bias cut nude slip. The silhouette is form fitting through the bust and waist with an ‘A’ Line skirt. The Violet Gown has a scoop neck, V Back and floral scalloped capped sleeves with a subtle train."
Of all the beautiful dresses I tried on, from many different amazing designers, this was by far the most flattering and easy to wear, with it's definition and detail around the waist, the beautifully shaped neckline, the V back, and the gorgeous cap sleeves. I got so many comments on the day and when people saw the photos. I couldn't have felt more amazing in a wedding dress!
I had the dress taken in slightly around the bust, waist and hips by a top city dress maker and they raved about how well made and beautifully designed the dress is. The gown is intricately hand made Battenburg lace with an invisible side zip and the silk slip is lovely on the skin. The dress is very comfortable and unfussy to wear, just put it on, zip it up and go. It has a small button to bustle it up.
I am 163cm tall and wore a 5cm heel. The gown just skimmed the floor at the front and the small train flowed perfectly at the back. The measurements are bust 76cm, waist 65cm, hip 95cm. I wore a 10C bra. It is very easy to alter if you need to take it in as it has a special piece of fabric that is taken off the seam and then put back on once the seam has been adjusted. I was also told that it has room to give in the lace. As it is so new and only once worn, the lace is still very tight, but if you needed it to give a little it will loosen up a little over time, if it is encouraged to.
Rue De Seine have become so popular world-wide that they have now put a stop to any rush orders. I was the last rush order allowed in Brisbane, ordering the dress in July 2015 for my September wedding. To have this made to order now would be a 5-6 month wait. This is one of only a few Violet dresses sold in Brisbane and I got many comments about how unique it is.
The dress was worn once for my very simple and small wedding. It has been dry cleaned by the boutique recommended fine clothing dry cleaner (receipt available), has no marks at all and is in perfect condition.
You are welcome to come and try the dress on. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. Thanks for your time and good luck with your search for the perfect dress!
