The Dress

Dress description:
The following description is from Pronovias website: Flared dress in crepe with nude underlay, lace bodice, with bateau neckline front and back. Three-quarter length sleeves. Flared crepe skirt with Chantilly lace appliques. Grosgrain belt.
This dress would work in any season – light enough to wear in spring and summer, but also covered enough to wear in winter. The lace detail on the top of the dress is beautiful and it daintily weaves its way down the sides of the plain skirt. I hope the pictures do it justice.

Original purchase details:
This dress was originally ordered as brand new in October 2016 from Windsor and Eton Brides, made and delivered in early 2017. Windsor and Eton Brides are an official retailer selling Pronovias wedding dresses.
I bought this dress from the original purchaser who wore it at her wedding, but I have decided not to wear this on my own day as I found an alternative. Since purchasing this has been kept stored in a double dress sleeve and never worn beyond trying on. Some alterations were made and have been noted below.

Measurements:
The dress was made to fit a UK size 14 woman – approximate measurements of the dress are included (please note that these are not from the seamstress but simply measuring the dress on a flat surface, so they are approximate by the original seller). From top of the shoulders to bottom of the front skirt, this dress is 163cm. The back of the dress is longer, as the dress comes down into a full skirt/train. There are loops and fixings attached to the underside of the dress so that it can be pinned up for ease of walking/dancing, which also looks really classy.

Cleaning:
The dress was worn once in May 2017 and tried on by myself at home 1-2 times. Following that it was professionally cleaned, including all under-skirt layers and top skirt. There were no serious or problematic stains (such as food/drink), it was merely to remove dirt naturally picked up from walking in the dress. It has since been stored in a double wedding dress carrier.

Storage:
The dress comes in the original Pronovias bag, as well as a second bag for double protection.

Alterations

Alterations
Alterations were made by a professional seamstress, which included adjustments to the waist and slightly lowering the lace neckline.
I personally had some professional alterations made including removing the 3rd under layer (stretchy, hot underlayer), new cups and lifting of the shoulders by 1 inch.
The alterations that have been done are not obvious and have been done professionally, neatly, and subtly.
