Alterations

  • A small piece of applique was removed from the deep v neck on the front of the dress to create a bit more of an illusion neckline
  • It simply makes the "V" appear a little bit deeper, while maintaining good structure
  • The dress was shortened in the front just a bit to match my height
  • I am 5'6" and I wore flat shoes with an inch or less of extra height
  • The sheer back was taken in just barely so it did not sag at all below my shoulders
  • Cups (Size C) were added

This dress is perfection for anyone who loves organic simplicity but also exquisite details done with applique and lace rather than shine or sparkle. It fits snug and shows off the figure in all the right places (the bodice and bust), but is light, flowy and forgiving from the hips down. This makes it incredibly perfect for wearing all day, including dancing. I love that the dress pairs understated nature-inspired vibes on the front, with a classic lace and sheer back. The cathedral train adds a touch of drama, with more classic lace at the end. Overall my favorite thing about this dress is that it is so beautiful, detailed and unique by simply using different fabrics in different ways. Classic and elegant, it made me feel amazing.
