The Dress

This is the 2020 Rosa Clara Celaya dress. I bought it for my 2020 wedding which was postponed and finally wore it in August 2021.

The dress was a joy to wear - so beautifully fitted and it moved so elegantly. I loved wearing something which was classic with modern touches. The shape is very classic, especially with the bolero/jakcet worn over the top. The brocade fabric is traditional but lightweight and with a modern chrysanthemum / floral pattern. Without the bolero/jacket, the dress has a really beautiful, modern low back with button detailing and a very chic, plunging neckline at the front with a mesh panel keeping it elegant.

I cannot emphasise enough how confident and elegant it made me feel.

It has been dry cleaned and has come up brilliantly - there is one small stain at the back of the train which I can send photos of by is not very noticeable.

Alterations

The bolero/jacket was made by reducing the train on the 'as bought' dress and turning it into a jacket. This was done by a really skilled tailor and the finish is excellent. Please note therefore that the dress has a slightly smaller train than on the Rosa Clara website. The size of the dress is unaltered. I am a UK 8 but it does have a small waist. I am 5ft 6 with a 1.5 inch heel on the day - I had the hem taken up slightly.
