Vera Wang Katherine has the grandeur of the ballgown, and yet, it’s also a dress that breathes a very contemporary atmosphere. It has subtlety, a lot of artistic touches, and a lot of life. Between the layers and layers of tulle and organza there’s nothing but air, so as the dress moves, and the shadows and tones become lighter, or darker, through those waves of fabric – you get a magnificent ballet of color and shadow. It’s especially splendid where you see these gatherings of bustled crinoline, creating asymmetrical figures in the line of the gown, like you see in the back, where it’s just a bit over the top in the way it’s been tacked up. In the front, there are beautiful blooms hand-rolled out of eyelash organza, just peeking out as if from a neatly-wrapped bouquet.

The gown’s natural waist, which is veiled with horsehair, draws right in for that trim hourglass silhouette, which is so classically seductive. There’s no lace or beading here: all the visual impact flows directly from the volume and the sculptural qualities of the fabric, for a consummately couture presentation.

This dress is unlike any other, and you will definitely feel like the most beautiful bride wearing it. As soon as you put it on, no other dress compares. I could not have been happier with how I looked on my wedding day, and my vision was confirmed by the hundreds of guests that would not stop complimenting me, by telling me that they have never seen a more beautiful dress. Although it is grand, it is quite lightweight and moves with your body exquisitely - dancing was a breeze and I could feel the dress moving with me all night long.

This dress was purchased at the Vera Wang Toronto store along with a gorgeous Swarovski embroidered belt, headpiece and 2 veils (1 short which can be worn as a typical veil or a blusher. The second veil is a long cathedral length with swarovski crystals embroidered all along the trim, and organza layers at the bottom). All the elements can be seen in the pictures provided. Ideally, I would want to sell all pieces together, but willing to sell the dress on it's own.

I did have alterations done to the dress, as the dress was purchased in my largest measurement. Bust is 32C, waist is size 2 and length of dress with heels was 5'6-5'7. The dress also has a bustle, as the dress has a small train.
