The Dress

This dress is a dream! It is so flattering, and I feel as though anybody could rock it. The silk fabric feels amazing & so high-quality. The dress fell so nicely on my body & I loved the way the cape moved as I walked...I was worried about how I would look in silk (if you could see body bumps & things) but I thought the fabric smoothed out anything worrisome & the cape added more confidence.

Lena’s dresses are not labeled “2,4,6” etc. but rather XS,S,M...this is a small. It would be flattering on anyone from a 00-6.

The dress has not been dry cleaned, but I did call my cleaners to ask about the makeup stains on the cape. There are no stains on the outside of the dress, though there is a slight makeup stain on the inside from my skin (you can’t see it from the outside). There is, however, a makeup stain on the inside of the cape from laying on my chest. The picture shown is of the cape lying against the dress so you can see the contrast. My cleaner said this can easily be taken out! I can also email you more photos of the cape & stain if you wanted to check with your own cleaners.

Alterations

Instead of messing with the bias cut of the dress & risking ruining the beautiful way the silk falls on your body, my seamstress simply shortened the straps to make it shorter for me. I have extra fabric that any tailor could use to create longer straps for a taller bride. I also had them shorten the v-back slightly, since it was sitting too low for me.

I had them put a finger slip into the cape so that I could walk or dance with it easily without worrying about someone stepping on it. I also had them put an eye hook on the cape so that I could bustle the cape if I wanted to (as seen in photos).
