The Dress

Normally, I don't wear dresses or present myself as "girly," so I really wanted my wedding to be the one day where I would blow everyone away. I fell in love with this dress instantly. It's a beautiful and breathtaking dress that was altered to fit closer to the body; it perfectly shows off your curves. The designs on the dress are elegant, and the beading makes you appear as if you're sparkling. It has a beautiful long train that can be put up in a three layer bustle, which was perfect for being able to walk around with ease during the reception. One of the times that I've felt the most confident with myself and my body was when I wearing this dress.

This dress was bought from David's Bridal in October 2018, and was worn once for my wedding in October 2019. The dress was was professionally dry cleaned in early 2020, and was taken to a seamstress to fix one of the small button hoops in the back that came undone when it was dry cleaned. Otherwise, the dress has been hanging in the closet ever since.

I took a guess at the “street size,” since I don’t wear dresses I don’t know what my normal dress size is. I’m guessing that this dress may fit as more of a size 6 after the alterations, since the sides of the dress were taken in to fit closer to my body.

Alterations

This dress was altered with sewn in cups, it was taken in a little bit at the sides of the waist to fit closer to the body, a layer or two was taken out of the bottom skirt of the dress so it didn't "poof out" so much, and the dress has a three layer bustle that's held up with buttons. I also didn't wear heels during my wedding, so this dress was altered in length for me to wear flats.
