Suzanne Neville, Bronte - Custom Altered

This Bronte dress by Suzanne Neville was an absolute dream to wear on our wedding day - August 2019.

I felt the best I have ever felt in any dress, all credit to Suzanne Neville and her amazing team who worked with my idea to transform it to a custom designed, more whimsically flowing dress

The Bronte is traditionally a slim line skirt but I wanted to add a delicate tulle skirt, inspired by another bridal designer ‘Liz Martinez’ who I loved but didn’t use structured bodices that Suzanne is so famous for.

Suzanne offered the perfect option of a double layered tulle skirt on top of a silk underskirt.
Creating a more airy a-line effect that didn’t look too ‘ballgown’.

It was the floral detailed bodice that struck me when I first saw it. Each flower is individually hand sewn giving such a delicate look despite being structured. This was custom fit to me - size 34B.
The bodice is a string fastened corset so whilst I am a UK 8, it will of course adjust effortlessly according to a similar size body shape.

The dress is the fastened up with the classic Rouleau loops, a bridal look that I think is a must at the back.

I also adjusted the sweetheart neckline to be a little more subtle, less ‘sweetheart’ curved around the bust.

Finally I wanted a simple low-back structure with 1 strap each side rather than the two on the Bronte.

I am 5ft 5 and so with heels on I was 5ft 8 wearing this dress.

The dress has now been professionally dry cleaned by a specialist and hanging beautifully crisp in its protective casing. (I decided not to get it boxed as I didn’t want to crease the dress since cleaning).

Please note the final picture was taken at the bridal shop (Harrogate) and was in the process of being altered length wise. I included it because it shows the dress without the ribbon round the middle.

I welcome any future brides interested to try it on providing no make up or fake tan is worn. Also providing the government rules allow.
