The Dress

This Valentino dress is absolutely gorgeous and a collector's item, since the once famous bridal house has stopped making wedding dresses. I bought it in 2007 for my wedding in 2008. Now I'm divorced and marrying for the second time, so it's time to let go of this dress and make another bride happy with it.

The dress is made of the finest Italian silk and handmade lace. The silhouette is flattering: the bias cut makes for a beautiful dramatic flare while the bodice is elegantly figure hugging. The dress is very comfortable, I wore it until late in the evening, danced in it and felt very feminine and authentic.

I'm 5 feet and 9 inches, and I wore heels of about 4 inches. The dress was floor length for me and has a little train. It has two detachable silk flowers which you can attach on to your left shoulder - I only wore one of them during the evening and none during the day, because I like things subtle and understated. But if you attach two, it makes for a dramatic and beautifully sophisticated detail.

Alterations

I had it slightly taken at the waist. My waist was then about 25 inches. My waist is now 26 inches and the dress still fits.
