Gwendolynne, Libby

Gwendolynne Burkin has established herself as one of Australia’s fashion purists; she works with intuition, avoids fashion trends, and remains true to her own sense of style and obsession with creating beautiful unique, vintage style designs.

I have available to sell, one of her Libby dresses in the equivalent of a size 8. The dress was worn in February 2014 and has been professionally dry cleaned. The dress is not boxed, but it is in its original bag.

The Libby dress has beautiful pleated tulle on both the bodice and in the skirt. There is a silk underlay and lining. I selected the traditional colouring for this dress which includes a champagne coloured ribbon and ivory silk with silver beading. As I was married 5 months after having a child, the dress has seams along each side of the bodice. This was so we could alter the dress if required based on changes in my size. This means the dress should be easy to alter as we specifically designed it this way for my circumstances.

The dress has a train. It's the maximum length train for this design. It wasn't too long at all though and I'm really glad I decided to have it. The train can be bustled up into the dress.

During transportation to my wedding, a crystal came loose on the clasp of the dress. I have a replacement clasp, but it has not been sewn into the dress as I decided to wear the dress as it was on the day. I will provide the clasp with the dress so that it can be replaced if desired. It would be easy to replace.

I'm 167cms tall and I wore heals of about 7cms. The dress has double bust cups (so you could remove one layer) and would fit an 8/10C or D. The dress is the equivalent of a size 8.
