Without knowing exactly what kind of dress of I was after - when I tried on ‘Ethel’ I just felt so happy. I loved that I couldn’t imagine wearing something like this anywhere else. ‘Ethel’ was elegant yet with a high fashion flair for fun.

I'm sadly selling the dress because I would love for someone else to experience the same enjoyment as I did from such a gorgeous dress.

ITEMS INCLUDED: 1 x Vera Wang Ethel dress with dress bag, 1 x Vera Wang ivory cross grain sash,1 x Vera Wang wooden coat hanger embossed with the Vera Wang logo and 1 x Vera Wang certificate of authenticity

MEASUREMENTS: Bust: 83cm/33 in; Waist: 65cm/25.5in; Hips: 90cm/35.5cm; Height: 167cm tall and wore 12cm heels

In other clothes I am a size 6-8 in cue dresses, size 8 in Cue tops. I am a size 27 in jeans.

ALTERATIONS:
The following alterations were made:
The hem was taken up, a slight tuck was added to the neckline to make it a soft sweet heart and 3 tiny buttons were added so the dress can be bustled.
No alterations to the body of the dress. Size 2 US (label)
The dress was altered at Sew Special (Sydney) on the recommendation and appointment of Vera Wang.

CONDITION:
The dress has been professionally hand dry cleaned and has no stains. It is in excellent condition. The ruffles are still very plump/full. The dress was cleaned within 1 week of the wedding at the dry cleaner recommended by Vera Wang (Blue and White Dry Cleaners, Neutral Bay).

VEIL:
I also have for sale a Vera Wang veil. This is a light ivory veil which is a perfect match for the dress. It is mid length and allows for the detail at the back of the dress to be shown off.

We had a fine weather day for our garden wedding - there was no rain before or on the day of the wedding hence the dress was only ever on dry grass.

LOCATION:
The dress is fully sealed in the dry cleaning bag and is a located at McMahons Point on Sydney's lower north shore. Over the month of June I will be in the Hunter Valley for several weekends and am prepared to bring the dress to Newcastle/Maitland/Hunter for genuine inquiries.

Ethel flirts more with couture than other dresses in the collection by showcasing a mastery of cutting and folding. Each swirling tissue organza flange of the skirt is hand-cut. The look: incredibly romantic despite the lack of beading, lace or petticoats. Additionally Ethel is made of a new fabric of stretch Mikado, allowing innovation in form. The bodice of Ethel is a contrast – clean and structured – accentuated by a simple grosgrain sash. I chose grosgrain, rather than horsehair, because its classic elegance and subtly felt more appropriate for this wedding dress. The tightly woven, ribbed texture adds depth while remaining versatile to mood and occasion.
