Fit and flare dresses fit at the waist and hips, but begin to flare out right above the knee. Fitted through the body, this style elongates your body by giving you more movement than a mermaid.

This dress is in the original wrapping from Lovely Bride in NYC. I only wore it for 2 hours at my destination wedding and then changed into a second dress. The dress has been altered, all great alterations that would cost a pretty penny. I had a french bustle added for dancing (although I didn't even dance in the dress), boning was added to the chest area so that it would sit up nicely, I also had it hemmed at the bottom to shorten it a bit, which is why the height has been fixed to a 5 foot 5 inch max, although my seamstress said someone would be able to make it a bit longer if they needed to.... I also had the relaxed lace "sleeve" added to the dress, this can be simply taken off, if you want a totally strapless dress! I wanted to add a little romantic elegance, although the dress has plenty of it already. Would love for someone to get to wear this gorgeous dress for the length of a normal wedding, as it barely got to have its time to shine at mine!
