The Dress

This dress is actually a two piece corset and skirt with a satin ribbon/belt tied around the waist from Halfpenny London. I believe the dress was made from a size 12 pattern, but with alterations sits somewhere between a 10-12 so please check measurements carefully. Although the skirt and corset themselves are both quite plain, the overall effect of pulling in at the waist and then billowing out at the hips is elegant but dramatic. The skirt is snug at the waist but because it puffs out at the hips, you can wear regular underwear and don't need to worry about uncomfortable 'shape wear'. I wore pink shoes which poked out from under the skirt and added a pop of colour. The skirt is 113cm from waist to hem.

It has been dry-cleaned and stored in a box with acid-free paper. The condition is like new - no tearing, pulls or snags. There is some very minor dirt around the hem where is has been on the floor but is only visible on very close inspection (it gets dirty the instant you put in on!). There are no other marks or stains.

My aunt handmade a lace bumble bee for good luck which is stitched to the dress label.

Although the corset is boned which gives some support, the back is quite low so if you have bigger boobs you will need some extra support.

I am charging 50% of what I paid for the skirt-corset combo. The silk tie was extra but because I can't remember how much I paid for it, I'm throwing it in for free!
