The Dress

Part of the French designer Delphine Manivet's Permanent Collection. Made of silk satin chiffon, the HYPPOLITE dress features a V-Neck collar, fine braces and a deep neckline in the back. The dress is draped on the hips with a bow on the front. The dress is lined with crepe and silk pongee.

The dress is based on 'that green dress' Kiera Knightley wore in Atonement. An elegant bare-backed gown designed to reflect the luxury of 1930's glamour but captured the simple, easy-going wedding style I was after.

Our wedding was relatively relaxed and low key, a registrar ceremony followed by a mean with our friends and family at one of our favourite restaurants in Edinburgh, and this dress fitted perfectly with the style.

I wanted a clean, simple wedding dress so had the train taken off my dress, this made the dress so easy to wear and perfect for dancing! The layers of silk give the skirt wonderful movement!

The dress was dry cleaned after the wedding, some very minor marks on the hem of the dress but really not noticeable when on! Happy to send pictures.

I am (was at the time of my wedding!) a size 8.
Height: 162cm plus 7cm shoes.

I do have the Mews bag at home (parents home) somewhere, but at the moment the dress is in its dry cleaning bag..

I love this dress and was so so happy when I found it, I hope someone else can be as happy with it too!

Alterations

Train reduced.
Sholder straps taken in but these could be unpicked if needed.
