The Dress

I am moving and would like a new home for this dress before I go - happy to consider all offers to find this dress a new home!

Jane Hill and I designed this Art Deco inspired dress when she was based in her Prahran boutique. It was an amazing experience working with Jane to craft this beautiful dress.

I wanted a design that was not only elegant and beautiful but comfortable and easy to wear, whilst providing enough structure to feel supported. I was also after a design for a trans-seasonal wedding; the flutter lace sleeves made this perfect for the season.

The dress has a beautiful detailed bodice made with Italian lace which is interwoven with intricate silvery thread. The skirt is satin which skims the figure and a tulle overlay, with a delicate train, provides movement. The train can be hooked up at the back with an invisible hook. The backless design has a fine (detachable) strap across the top forming an elegant shape on your back. Despite being backless, the bodice is well structured to provide bust support (I'm a DD cup).

The dress is floor length. I'm 170cm tall and wore 4cm heels. I am a size 10-12.

The dress comes in the original Jane Hill garment bag. It was professionally dry cleaned by Syndal's Bridal Dry Cleaner in Armadale not long after the wedding.

There are a couple of small pulls in the tulle train that you can sometimes see when you stretch out the tulle and look very closely. It's often difficult to find these in the fabric so unlikely to be noticed! The dress has been priced accordingly :)
