Alterations

  • I had the dress altered by One Day Bridal in-store at the time of my first fitting
  • The dress is a show stopper and is designed to bring out femininity and curves
  • In considering this, I had it altered by One Day Bridal to come in closer at the thighs
  • As I ensured the train was kept as long as possible, I also had One Day Bridal include a hidden loop on the inside of the base of the train, which I could wear on my wrist and allowed me to carry part of the train with ease over my arm

About the Dress

It is little wonder the Sadie by One Day Bridal is a regular Instagram feature. This beautifully fitted (and more so in the case of this particular Sadie) is a natural show stopper. It features a structured bodice and extra long train that leaves you comfortable throughout your big day, and confident that your photos will be breathtaking. I barely noticed the structuring and fit, but felt confident greeting my guests and having my first dance.

The georgette fabric is a beautiful thick material, that pulls you in and keeps your lines smooths. However it does not make you hot or weigh you down. I had a spring country wedding and enjoyed the day from make up to last drinks in the magical Sadie. Having had a baby less than twelve months prior to my wedding, the off the sleeve cuffing around the Sadie was forgiving and flattering.

I am 165 cm tall and wore the Senso Melvy IV shoes on the day (9 cm block heel). I will happily include the shoes as part of the purchase price if the purchaser is interested.

After the initial purchase price of $4,995, I have spent $725 on alterations at One Day Bridal. These alterations were needed to give the Sadie the fit it deserved. To have the dress shipped to me, One Day Bridal charged a flat courier fee of $250. I then had the dress dry cleaned at a speciality wedding dress dry cleaner for $600.

I place all purchasers on notice that I did have a stunning and lush country wedding. This has meant there are some slight marks on the bottom of the dress. Should you need to alter the hem (such as shorten it) the marks would accordingly go. Apart from this, the dress is in perfect condition and has been returned to the One Day Bridal bag ready to be sent to its new home.

In considering the joy this dress brought me, and the sadness I feel at it tucked away in the cupboard, the price is negotiable.
