The Dress

OVERVIEW: This dress is (one of the if not) THE most beautiful dress I have ever seen. I don’t just say this because it’s mine, but I’ve gotten SO MANY COMPLIMENTS ON IT! I’m selling it with the veil, both of which were designed by La Premiere, and both made to order. Note that the dress comes with a full skirt that’s not attached to it. You wear them separately, to give the dress the full look you see in the pics.

THE VEIL: is custom-made, based on my own brief to the boutique where I bought the dress: that it be a Cathedral veil, and that the design is the same design as the border of the dress. The boutique then briefed the designer and made me the perfect veil!

THE PRICE: for full disclosure, you’ll find this dress across the United States from authorized sellers at VERY DIFFERENT PRICES. One boutique in Atlanta quoted me ~$12,090 for the dress alone WITHOUT alterations or taxes, or veil etc., for example, whereas other boutiques quoted me lower prices. I’m selling the dress AND the veil for $2,758. This would NOT include the cost of dry cleaning the dress. I prefer that you take the dress to a dry cleaner you trust. And, in any case, you’ll want to take it in for steaming it (or whatever it is they do to wedding dresses to get them ready!) for the big day!

CONDITION: The dress is in near-perfect condition, with a few exceptions such as some normal stains from where it touched the ground walking/dancing/etc, but I hope these will be taken care of in the dry cleaning. A portion of the corset on the back of the dress came undone, but it should be an easy fix by a seamstress. I’ll send you pic of what it looks like if you’re interested.

SIZE: I currently (and at the time of the wedding!) wear sizes 8 and 10 depending on the brand. The dress itself is labeled size 16, because bridal sizes are VERY different than regular clothes sizes. I didn’t know before I started bridal dress shopping that bridal sizes are VERY different than what you typically wear. So please be VERY careful NOT TO order this dress if your size is a size 16 in regular clothes OR if you’re uncertain the dress will fit you. I will NOT be responsible for the dress not fitting and will not take returns.

ALTERATIONS & MORE ON SIZE: Also note that the size 16 dress was taken in a bit in alterations. For your awareness I wear a bra size 38C in brands like C Magnifique Minimizer bra, and, like I said above, I’m typically (though not exclusively) sizes 8-10 depending on the brand. The dress was also altered for height: I’m 5’1’’ and was wearing 4-5inch heels, and the dress and its skirt were altered accordingly to fit my height and heels. Further, the dress was altered to add bustles (happy to share a photo of the dress when bustled). The dress was also altered to add one leaf i believe to the neckline, so that my cleavage didn’t show. The seamstress who added it at the boutique where I got it was a master of her trade, and you can’t tell where she added it. The designer also added pearls all along the train of the dress (I’m told that the pearls are typically only lined on the upper part of the dress, but the designer added them for me all along the train in one straight line - absolutely beautiful). Note that these alterations are not exhaustive, because I’m not sure whether the alterations team at the boutique did more things to make the dress fit perfectly, but these are the major things. The size 16 fit me comfortably, but needed to be taken in a bit, so they did what they needed to do to make that happen! Note that the dress has a hidden corset in the back with a ribbon to tie it and give you a snatched look. The corset is covered by a zipper, and then over the zipper, there are beautiful pearls.
