The Dress

Keyhole open back, with straps on the sides, polka dot tulle skirt with three layers. It may be difficult to see in photos but there are tiny polka dots on the tulle - which were the reason I fell in love with the dress. I was not sure about the straps when I saw it online, but liked them once I tried the dress on in store.

I am 172cm tall and usually wear size 6-8 tops and size 10 pants. As this is a ball gown style it is an easy fit for larger hips. I usually am a B cup bra - the dress cups were generous and would easily fit a C cup.

The dress had minor alterations - hem up slightly, loosened the waist and tightened the back & sides. The seamstress advised that it can all go in or out more, as needed. The bra cups can be changed. I’m happy to pass on the name of the local seamstress to anyone who purchases in Canberra.

The seamstress recommended hollywood tape to keep the open back flat against my skin and keep the bodice tight, but I ran out of time.

The dress was made to order by Arietta Australia (based in Brisbane). Seems to be a small brand and not much of an online presence. I purchased the dress from Angelic Inspirations in Canberra.

Other than that - it was such a fun dress, easy to move and dance and received lots of compliments. I hope someone else can enjoy it too!

Alterations

Hem up slightly, waist loosened, back and sides tightened.
