The Dress

I purchased this truly special Vintage early 2000's late 90's Valentino gown from the iconic Happy Isles salon for $6,200 in August 2022 and didn't end up wearing it on my wedding day. I also ended up finding it on a reseller site (with pure luck) so that I could make changes to it without compromising the beauty of the one I purchased (in case I changed my mind and didn't like the changes), so you could be the one who really shines in this stunning silhouette. The condition is really good for being a designer vintage gown. No stains you have to worry about, and truly ready to wear to be the most stunning, classy bride, or simply just to stand out amongst the crowd for any event.

I added a silk lining, cropped the bodice, and did a few other things (I AM SELLING THE UNWORN HAPPY ISLES VERSION) –– i have an incredible tailor and dry cleaner if you are interested in doing exactly what I did to the dress. The other two photos show the dress as IS that I purchased from Happy Isles. It's iconic that you could get this vintage, slightly see through gown for your upcoming wedding, or for any event for that matter.

You can wear the gorgeous silk bow on the front or the back, and you can even have fun with the side sleeves, either allowing them to hang down on your elbows, or wearing them up to your shoulders. There are so many unique ways to wear this dress. You can even tighten the elastic on the sleeves to change how they sit on you.

It is a perfect off-white ivory color with a double zip strapless bodice, and a perfectly flowing bottom. I am 5'7 and weigh 135, with an 34A cup size and the length and fit on me is ideal. The fact that I was able to zip right into this perfect piece is really special. I just had my destination wedding in Sicily, Italy, so this style WAS PERFECT for that Italian feel. But also can truly be worn in any setting.

There is the added pleated detail on the sleeves, the strapless and pleated neckline, and beautiful subtle polka dots added into the lovely silk fabric. It is slightly see through, so either you can get away easily with nude spanx or under garments, or add in a silk lining. Whatever you choose, this dress is sure to be a show stopper. Vintage Valentino !! worth every penny and more.
