The Dress

I absolutely adore my wedding dress! As a size 14 I was very anxious looking through bridal boutique websites and going into shops, because no model was my size. I also had specific requirements - it was a winter wedding so I wanted sleeves; I wanted a V-Neck to suit my larger bust; and if possible I wanted a bit of a vintage elegant vibe. In the world of boho brides and ballgown beauties that was hard to find!

I knew the Valentina gown was the one the minute I put it on! The beading was just incredible, and it fit in all the right places - highlighted my waist and bust, just skimmed my hips in a tulip drape (and the beading on the back made it look like I had a butt!), it had a beautiful keyhole back which was a stunning detail, and I loved the drama of the train.

I felt like a goddess on my wedding day! It really is the best I have ever looked. Once paired with the right hair, makeup and shoes I was the elegant, beautiful bride I had hoped for. I am still in awe it looked just as I envisaged it.

Alterations

- the cuffs hung too loose so were tightened to fit my wrist better
- a loop was added on the tail so it could be picked up when needed
- an extra hook was added to the back so the low bra strap couldn't be seen
