Dress was nothing but divine to wear on my special day.

LOLA VARMA is minimal bridal wear designed by Courtney Illfield. As a fashion and wedding photographer first, Courtney found that many women didn’t connect with the common sweep of garments, the traditional details, the dated silhouettes. For these individuals—edgy, unbound by convention—she designed a collection of unconventional bridal wear.

Marrying high fashion and everyday apparel, the separates and gowns aim to mirror the air of our era, the desires of the modern woman. Minimal and elegant, the garments honour a subtle beauty.

Lola Varma hand makes and masterfully cut every garment to order in Perth, using different weights, washes and tones of silk layered with fine wools and cotton. The materials are fluid and comfortable in character, allowing the dress to naturally flow with your body and grace it.

This dress was the most comfortable, elegant, timeless and romantic dress to wear. The 100% silk, made me feel like a million bucks.

I am sad to part way with this gown, however I know it will be another bride so much joy.

The dress has been dry cleaned immediately after the wedding, however some earth spots exist on the bottom of the train. The train could simply be shortened to remove the marks, or someone is who brave enough to handle 100% silk could spot treat.

Alterations

The top part of the dress has been reduced a few centimeters on both sides, to look more identical to the designers photos. Im not very tall and it looked too wide on me. The length was also reduced in the front, according to the measures here on stillwhite, 168 with shoes. Both is done by a tailor.
