The Dress

Made from layers of sheer lace, with long draped fringing, this gown is so ethereal. The movement of the fringe makes for some incredible photos and is super fun on the dance floor. The dress has an incredible amount of weight in it, which makes it super comfy/secure to wear and easily move and boogie in. It also has a gorgeous train and a wrist strap underneath for moving around. The lace holds close the body and in all the right places. I would say I have a triangle shaped body, small up top with A cup boobs and then a bit wider at the hip area. The dress is tight cut to the body until just below the bum area. I'm a UK 8 and this dress fit my like a glove.

Every Rue de Seine dress is cut singularly and is constructed from start to finish by the same seamstress, this helps to ensure consistency and the same high standard of finishing across every garment. Every lace used in a Rue de Seine gown is designed in-house and is exclusive to Rue de Seine, creating unique, fashion forward gowns that embody the bohemian spirit and set Rue apart from the rest of the bridal world.

I had the key hole on the front of the dress made smaller to allow me to wear a flesh coloured bralette with the dress as it is rather see through. I also had the key hole on the back of the dress made smaller by the addition of hook and eye closures to hide a tattoo on my back. Both of these minor adjustments can be easily unpicked if required and were done by a professional. There has been no alterations made to waist/length or anything else. For reference, I am 5'9" wore a 5cm heel and the front of the dress skimmed the floor perfectly. 

I bought Dakota for £3,250 from Jean Jackson couture in Manchester just before this dress was discontinued in 2018 which makes this unique dress all the more special. The dress was gently hand washed by myself the day after our wedding as dry/machine cleaning is not an option for the tassles. There are no marks or imperfections. This is not a sample dress so it's only been worn by myself once and has never been hung on a hanger for any period of time, something which can cause stretching out of place.

Brides willing to travel to my home in Stockton-on-Tees, Durham are welcome to try on the dress before purchase. 

It doesn't make sense for such a gorgeous dress to be boxed away in the loft. I hope that this dress can make someone feel equally as beautiful and bring as much magic on your special day as it did mine.
