The Dress

The Grace Loves Lace Orla gown is a beautiful wedding dress. It's design is so elegant and classic, the intricate white lace, with the scalloped edge neck line, low back and bottom hugging gathering make for the perfect long sleeved wedding dress.

I bought a 'Ready to Wear' Orla gown from GLL in Dec 2021 in a size small (equivalent to a GLL size 10).

This Orla gown is white lace with chai lining. It has an 80cm train with the finger loop and an added bustle to fasten it hands free.

This dress is timeless and classic, but very modern - just what I was after. I absolutely loved the way this dress looked and how easy it was to wear. I wasn't uncomfortable or worried about the way it was sitting at all throughout the day.

This Orla gown has been dry cleaned by Syndal's Bridal Dry Cleaners in Mount Waverley for $400 and comes with a certificate of dry cleaning. Also, I have a $50 voucher to throw in if you'd like to use the same place when your time comes.

There are no flaws, or pulls, or stains post dry cleaning and it is in excellent condition.

Alterations

I had alterations done by Seams Impossible (Deborah) in Cheltenham, a registered dressmaker specialising in wedding gown alterations for more than 25 years.

I am 177cm tall (wore 2.5cm heels) and had the hem taken up about an inch, so there's still lots of hem to play with.

There was a bit of room in the bust (I am an 8DD) but due to the nature of the backless dress, there wasn't much that could be done about this, except for adding in a bust dart on both sides to bring it a bit tighter and another removable cup inserted into the bust. The darts are not noticeable and really suited the fit of the dress.

I also had a bustle added to the back of the gown (just a small button hardly visible) which was the best addition ever. Seriously, made such a positive impact on the day, I could dance with it bustled, not on my finger as you can see in the last two photos.
