The Dress

This was my dream dress. When I first spotted the dress the lace caught my eye. I had never seen lace like it, it has beautiful birds. This dress was made to order and came from New Zealand.
The dress has long bell sleeves which fitted my 70s vibe. Buttoned from the bust down to the slit which starts halfway down the thigh (I had this stitched a little further being a tall girl, refer to photos)
The lace also has a slight hint of sequin/bead (not massively noticeable) but just subtle.
The dress comes in two parts. The underlay slip which is a nude/pink hue which I loved as I am not a traditional bride so I ordered the coloured slip so I wasn't in all white. The slip starts where the slit on the overlay starts and tapers down to the back (the slip is not full length at the front, the lace is)
The hem on this dress is more of a rough edge.
I have had this professionally dry cleaned with a wedding dress specialist. There is no dirty marks and lace and beading is all in tact. The dress has been boxed and is wrapped in a particular paper to avoid mildew. It is also stored in an airy room. smoke free home.
All I would say is I think it would need a steam/press or just hung up to get any creases out as it has been folded and boxed.
The dress was so comfortable to wear all day/night and fell beautifully. It also has a button hook at the back for pulling up when on the dance floor.
Everyone has tried to convince me to keep this dress but I believe that it is so beautiful that has to be worn again!!
