The Dress

This dress was a winner as soon as I tried it on. The size 14 was almost perfect off the rack, so I only had to get minor adjustments made.

It is a SHOWSTOPPER that I receive compliments on to this day. The full skirt skims the ground in the front and has a nice dramatic train at the back which can be pinned up when on the dance floor.

The plunging v-neckline and a dramatic open back with tapered straps, makes this so flattering. Delicate floral appliques adorn the whole bodice and straps for a touch of texture. The striking full-length English net skirt has lace appliques and an elegant chapel-length train for a truly breathtaking appearance from the ceremony to the reception.

Although it gives the bohemian vibes that is popular today, it is also a style that I feel will age well when I look back at out photos in a few decades.

It is very comfortable, with no need for a bra (I'm a 12 E) or shapewear, and I could any all the food with no restrictions! It is pretty easy to get in with a zip closure, hidden by decorative buttons.

I am very lucky that I did not need to take the dress up at the bottom as I am taller than average (174cm) and just found 4cm heels to wear for the perfect length. Therefore, there is still the option for the next bride to be able to do that if necessary.

The dry cleaning got the dress to almost as new condition.

Alterations

- Very small reduction in waist.
- Shortened the straps - only by a couple centimeters.
- Removal of cups and replacement with smaller cups, lower down.
- Brought in the gap between the breasts, removed the mesh between the breast area.
- Small hoop added at the back to attach the train to for easy dancing.
