The Dress

This is an authentic Vera Wang gown. I am the original owner and wore it only once--on the day of my wedding. It was then professional cleaned and preserved. The photos of the hanging dress were taken after cleaning and depict the dress in its current state.

I loved this dress as soon as I put it on and purchased it at my first trip to a bridal shop. The mermaid silhouette is gorgeous and flattering. The stretch Mikado fabric (exclusive to Vera Wang) is very comfortable and makes it easy to move around, sit down, and dance.

The dress will be shipped with the tags, sash, and buttons shown in the photos.

Below is the description of this dress from the Vera Wang website:

"I am captivated by fabric manipulation and how layers of folded fabric, arranged skillfully, can create depth and character in a dress. Ethel flirts more with couture than other dresses in the collection by showcasing a mastery of cutting and folding. Each swirling tissue organza flange of the skirt is hand-cut. The look: incredibly romantic despite the lack of beading, lace or petticoats. Additionally Ethel is made of a new fabric of stretch Mikado, allowing innovation in form.

The bodice of Ethel is a contrast – clean and structured – accentuated by a simple grosgrain sash. I chose grosgrain, rather than horsehair, because its classic elegance and subtly felt more appropriate for this wedding dress. The tightly woven, ribbed texture adds depth while remaining versatile to mood and occasion.

Ethel is available with a tissue, organza shrug with seed bead and crystal rose petals. This shrug creates the perfect accessory by which to transition your look from conservative to sexy as you move from the ceremony to the reception." Alterations

The dress is a size 4 and was ordered with an "open cup" bodice (for larger busts - my bra size is 30DDD). I had it altered to my measurements: 5'10'' in heels and 33''-24''-35''. The strapless neckline was also altered slightly to make it a "sweetheart" shape.
