The Dress

Thanks for looking at my dress; I remember how difficult and stressful it was choosing my dress, but maybe that's just me! In the end I went for this beautiful dress by Catherine Parry (now renamed Gaia Bridal) and have no regrets. It has a lace top of sequins and pearls with a heavy crepe with a slight stretch skirt and a puddle train. It is 'column' style with a gentle A-Line. I found it very flattering because of the proportions and because of the weight of the crepe; it makes you look like you have very long legs and it hangs really nicely rather than clinging.

It has an understated, elegant, slightly vintage feel that was perfect for our little wedding in April at a stately home. It was comfortable to wear, I felt amazing and it photographed really well. I am 5 foot 11 inches tall and wore 2.5 inch heels. It was only worn for 5 hours because we had a very small, simple wedding so it didn't really need dry cleaning but I've had it professionally cleaned by dry cleaner in Henley and it's as good as new.

The dress was taken in by a dressmaker in Reading who is amazing, lovely and very reasonable. So could recommend her if you are local because she took it in for me and knows the dress well.

Alterations

Waist was taken in because I have a full bust (32EE) and hips but a smaller waist (27 inches). I usually wear a size 10 from most shops. Depending on the cut I can be an 8. I went bra-less and felt very secure because of the built in in soft cups.
