**Custom gown made in Australia over a 10 month period **

The Gown

Plunging off shoulder A-line gown with a deep shaped waistband featuring a full skirt with pleats at the waist crossing over at the centre front with a thigh high split. A generous train flows behind. Gown features in seam pockets at side seams.

I worked very closely with the head designer at Emoda Couture to create a custom made gown for our wedding. There was very little in the market that was made in Australia and could accommodate my size and budget. However, I was able to design my dress from sketch to the final button detailing. The dress is truly like nothing I had tried or have seen. It is elegant, classic, and dramatic. Perfect for a black tie or formal wedding.

This custom made gown has been expertly crafted with luxurious silk/satin Mikado which adds to the drama of a structured A-line skirt with a crossover split.

If we start from the top:

- the bust is fashioned with additional pieces of Mikado and hand pressed to create a fold detailing.
- the off-shoulder neckline brings a soft contrast to the dramatic structured waistband.
- the bust is detailed with delicate folds to really add to the luxurious look of the gown.
- the bodice was made over multiple appointments. It has boning and really elongates the torso and acts a corset when buttoned. The button detail is both functional and adds a beautiful detail to the back of the gown.
- the skirt is lifted with tulle to create a fullness without the bulk. The lining includes an additional layer of crinoline to help get the desired fullness.
- the split meant that I was able to move with ease. It added a modern flair to a classic look.
- Hand sewn button detail from the bodice to the end of the gown. The gown’s train is approximately 2m in length.
- The buttons are also used for when you want to bustle the gown. There are various connection points and loops in the crinoline.
- includes two invisible side pockets which meant I had my lipstick, lip gloss, and speech with my at all times.

This was my dream dress. I would love to keep it, but unfortunately do not have the space to store and care for this gorgeous gown. It deserves a new home! I also do not plan on getting married again... :)

The gown is well suited to petite girls. It was made to focus on my waist and bust. You will need to take care and measure yourself before enquiring. There is no give in the waist or bust. However, as it is a full skirt, if you are curvier on the legs and butt this will work.

How did I feel?

The dress was incredibly comfortable. It fit perfectly and accentuated my waist and bust. I had many compliments on the day. If I had my wedding again, I would not change a thing. I wore the dress for 8 hours and it felt incredible. I moved with ease and was able socialise.

Flaws and condition?

This dress is in excellent condition. As it is custom made, I am the only owner and it was worn for 8 hours. I had this professionally dry cleaned by Blue & White dry cleaners which cost approximately $600 (this deals with any dirt marks under the gown). There was limited marking, and no visible marks and is near perfect. There are a couple of snags on the creonline, but this occurs when you are walking on asphalt. It is minor.

The Pearletta Veil

This veil was simply magnificent (see photo of the dramatic photograph our photographer captured).

Length: Veil measures 3.5 meters from comb to end of veil. Front tier measures 1 meters in length.

Fabric: High quality English Tulle, imitation full Pearls. This is handmade and made to order. There are hundreds of full pearls (rather than stick on half pearls) that cascade over the beautiful tulle. This took around 4 months to make.

Fastening: Veil hand sewn onto a fine metal comb.

Colour: White

Flaws and condition?

The veil is in excellent condition, except is has a minor tear at the very end of the tulle. It would not be noticed when worn, or you could simply have the veil trimmed by a seamstress if you were bothered by the snag.
