The Dress
This beautiful dress is 'Grace' from Eliza Jane Howell's Leading Lady Collection.
The bodice features silver, ivory and diamanté hand beaded design which drapes to a soft silk chiffon skirt.
This dress was originally used on the catwalk where a small amount of damage occurred to the silk skirt. Instead of removing this skirt we decided to add tulle skirt over the top. This alteration revitalized the dress and created a unique fairy tale look.
As a consequence this dress is one of a kind with the original silk skirt underneath and two layers of tulle over the top.
With a definite nod to 1920’s era, this wedding dress is a definite showstopper and will fit a contemporary venue as effortlessly as a vintage wedding.
Since alteration, the dress has been worn once, for my wedding day. It was then professionally dry cleaned.
There are a few small holes in the added tulle overskirt. These are right at the bottom, where the skirt meets the floor. As such, they are barely noticeable. I am happy to send photos of this if requested.
