The Dress

I tried on a ton of dresses, but knew this was the one the second I put it on. I was 2 months post partum at my wedding and felt like it held me in very well and was super flattering due to the boning. It has an all-over ivory/nude floral lace with tulle. The mermaid silhouette makes it feel very feminine, and my favorite part is that it has two layers of lace. There's a delicate floral lace lining underneath the larger lace which makes it feel a bit sheer (though it's not) and gives it a 3D effect. We got married in summer and it looked really pretty in the sunlight. It also has covered buttons and a ruched bottom which according to my husband, was very sexy. :) Includes removable pads.

Alterations

The dress length was taken up and the overall fit was taken in. Invisible snaps were added to reinforce the off-the-shoulder strap placement and make it so they could be worn on the shoulder as well. (Being 2 months post-partum, my bust needed the extra support.) In the shuffle of packing things up the night after the wedding, one of the straps was lost. However, since it is a simple piece of lace, it would be fairly easy for a seamstress to recreate, and the dress is also stunning strapless. Invisible snaps were also added so the dress could be bustled a number of ways. Finally, the top of the bodice was closed a bit as it was extremely low cut and felt too risque for a family affair.
