The Dress
I ordered the vintage wedding gown for my Daughter in 1994 from designer Catherine Rayner of London. It is ivory silk with an attached train, a boned and corseted bodice and a flat-fronted tapered skirt. It has pale pink roses along the shoulders, front and back. There are beads on the front and back. The back has a zipper with ivory buttons covering it. The long sleeves have the same type of buttons on them. Catherine Rayner’s designs were admired for their “classic elegance and romantic flair.” One of her designs is included in the Victoria and Albert Museum fashion collection.
