The Dress

When I first met Helen Manuell, I said I wanted something that was elegant and simple, yet flattering and easy to move in. This is her beautiful creation. In addition to everyone saying how gorgeous the dress was, I had so many married girlfriends tell me they wish they went for a dress like this - as I was able to dance and move around without readjusting, and I could just scoop up the skirts to get in and out of the car. Helen used pure silk for both the thicker lining layers and upper layers on this dress, with a single shoulder strap that can be tucked in. The silk felt so soft and gorgeous to wear, the skirt moved so beautifully when I walked and hung perfectly around my waist. The fabric and design resulted in some seriously stunning photos!! She hand-made a corset that goes all the way to the hips and integrates the bust making it an incredibly flattering fit that draws in the waist. It is fastened using small matching silk covered buttons and eyelets up the back that cover a hidden zip. It is floor length up front, slightly longer at the back. I am 167cm tall, and wore shoes that were about 5-6cm high. The dress is for a size 8, cup size 10B (ish). You can wear this with or without a bra/inserts - it has inbuilt cups. The dry cleaning was by a bridal specialist, and there are no marks or damage - it has been boxed and stored since the clean!
