The Dress

Timeless dress from this designer that skims nicely over the hips before pinching in just enough to show my figure but allowing me to move freely. The dress has lots of subtle embellishments on it that catch the light just enough for a shimmer. I am not a blingy person and this dress provides that little extra special touch. There is also a beautiful embellished belt sewn onto the dress, with small crystal detail stitched on. The skirt party of the dress has a satin under-layer with two layers of sheer fabric over it. The under layer of sheer fabric has a beautiful fine floral pattern, with a clear sheer layer over it that has a little more of the floral design. This is a dainty looking dress that would suit a similarly small dainty figure like mine. I am 5'4".

The built in corset has a very heart shaped floral embellishment - hopefully you can see it in the photo. I thought this was such a subtle touch that just made the dress that little more special and a classic for this designer.

I felt so special wearing the dress all day and it felt very comfortable. As I won’t have a chance to wear it again I’d love it to go to a new owner who will feel just as special wearing it on your big day. The alternations I had could be re-altered to suit your exact measurements.

Alterations

Originally a size 12, the dress was customised to fit my size 8 frame. It was pinched in at the bust, waist, hips, and taken up length. On the back, sheer fabric was sewn into the existing V shape back, along with tiny buttons and the floral applique along the top of the neckline. This could be removed again if you prefer the original design.
Cups were sewn in to allow for no bra to be worn. The length was painstakingly brought up by removing the lace and tiny embellishments at the bottom of the dress, and then sewn back on. A loop was sewn, and hook and loops, under the train so there is a choice of carrying the train on your wrist or fastening it depending on your preference and purpose. I completed a full ballroom dance routine as our first dance holding the loop on my wrist before hooking it up for the rest of the evening. The seamstress did amazing work, you would never know it had been altered so much, it cost me an additional £200 to have the dress altered.
