The Dress

This dress was the perfect combination of alluring, elegant and rustic that I wanted for my historic church wedding in November. It was only worn for three hours for photos & the church ceremony.

Sweetheart tulle wedding gown with chapel train. This A-line gown of misty tulle features layers of decadent hand-beaded lace appliqués that trim the strapless sweetheart neckline and adorn a flattering bodice featuring a dazzling crystal hand-beaded belt that emphasizes the waist. Completing this stunner is a back corset and chapel length train.

The corset allows the dress to be perfectly fitted, comfortable and stable - you hardly feel the dress at all even though it's a very substantial dress. The soft french beige undertone pops amazingly alongside any shade of gray or blue. I searched high and low for a dress that would look like a storm cloud (I'm a meteorologist), and I couldn't have done better than I did with this dress!

The dress was purchased in a Washington, DC boutique and comes with a custom-length tulle veil that reaches the end of the train. The veil has a light sparkle embedded in the fabric that plays dramatically off the dress.

In sum, the alterations include: one size down in the waist, added cups (they're easily removed if you wish), and a strong three-point bustle in the back.
