The Dress

Never worn, never altered. I fell in love with this dress but then I accidentally found the dress that was just a little more perfect for me personally. This dress is extremely flattering with a vneck line (not too deep but deep enough to give pretty and appropriate cleavage). The actual bodice is in satin and has a sweetheart neckline. Then a soft lace (not too delicate to snag on anything) is overlayed on top of the bodice. The lace creates an illusion (see through) v-neckline and sleevless style. The illusion/see through continues to the back, which is probably the wow factor of the dress. The lace, which is a slightly floral and abstract pattern motif creates a gorgeous pattern on the back. The back of the bodice has a line of covered buttons closure from neckline down, however a hidden zipper is underneath the buttons from back waistline down. In the back view photos- the zipper wasn't pulled all the way up and closed with the hook and eye closure, so buttons seem skewed. Once the zipper and hook and eye are closed, the buttons are in a seamless straight line. The waist has a 1 1/2 inch wide satin band detail, which could be removed by a seamstress if desired. You can replace it or add a belted embellishment, or a pin like I sampled (which can be seen in a couple of the photos). The skirt of the dress is made up of a bottom layer of soft satin and then multiple layers of soft tulle creating a romantic ethereal look which is very much in style right now (seen at stores like BHLDN). The skirt creates a bit of a train in back as well. (google Allure Romance Style 2716 for professional photos that show the train better). The dress is gorgeous and romantic and extremely flattering. I actually never even considered getting a vneck sleeveless style since most look matronly but this one was so lovely. It created a stunning neckline- elongating my neck and it really narrowed my waist for a slimming look. My family fell in love with it on me as well (some preferred this dress over the one I actually wore!). I wish I could have worn 2 dresses to my wedding but you have to go with your gut and with the dress that's perfect for you! I hope this special dress finds a special home! By the way, if it helps- I'm 5 ft tall and between size 8 and 6. The dress definitely would have needed to be hemmed but absolutely no other alterations would have been needed.
