The Dress

This dress was custom made and designed, by Darb Bridal Couture in Brisbane.

You won't find this lace anywhere! It is a completely custom design, hand drawn, stitched and beaded specifically for this dress. Every part of it is different, creating a unique and intriguing piece. The beadwork has a lot of silver at the top, mostly white in the centre and then fading to only embroidery at the bottom. This effectively blends the lace into the skirt. It elegantly creates a 'dress', rather than a two-piece look. The lace is backed with a flesh colour so that the detail really pops. It joins the skirt in a curve (higher on one side, longer on the other).

The skirt of the dress has been cleverly crafted so that it creates a perfect silhouette when moving in it. The train allows for easy movement and gives the side profile of garment a sophisticated element.

It is a comfortable, practical yet striking artwork.

The underside of the hem has some lining worn away. There are a few marks on the hem.
The bride that wore this dress was tall, and wore mid-height heels. The hemline can easily be taken up to remove this.
We have not cleaned this dress as it was only worn for 4 hours, and the only visible unclean part is the hem that on most brides would need to have removed for length.
