The Dress

I wore this Monique Llhuillier Bliss dress for my wedding on Saturday August 6th 2016. I absolutely loved wearing this dress for my wedding. It sounds cliché, but I felt like a million dollars, and although it is big, it is very light and incredibly comfortable. I even danced on the chairs in it!

The dress was bought in New York late 2015 for $3200 USD. It is a Monique Llhuillier Bliss (BL 1503) wedding dress with V neck and illusion straps, cascading lace onto a A line skirt of tulle. There are 14 layers, of which there are 12 layers of tulle and 2 underlayers of silk! Despite all the layers, the dress is incredibly light. The back has a beautiful deep V neck.

Originally bought as a size 12 (for hips), there was quite a lot of work that had to be done to fit a size 8/10 chest and 10/12 hips due to the way the dress is made. It was worth every penny though!

There is just one tiny (half centimetre) hole at the back in one of the layers, but you would need to get on hands and knees and really search for it to see it.

Hips: 35 inches
Shoulder to bust: 10 inches
Shoulder to bottom of V neck on back: 14 inches
Skirt length (front): 46 inches
Skirt length (train): 64 inches
Strap width at top: 2.5 inches
Strap width at bottom: 5 inches
