The Dress

This dress is a stunning custom design made by Award Winner Brisbane designer Wendy Makin.
The dress design was based on Wendy's Iona gown however has additional layers creating a full train instead of just the organza overlay.
The dress was made to fit a usual Aus size 8 and flares into a typical A-Line silhouette from the waist.
The neckline and capped sleeve are in a beautiful lace that extends onto the bodice and into a sheer low back. The lace is soft and fits perfectly against the skin.
The back is fastened using beautiful pearl buttons.
The train can be lifted to the small of the back making it easier to get around once formalities are over.

I bought this dress for my wedding in August 2016. After trying on only a couple of styles, I fell in love with Wendy's Iona gown and knew the simple yet classic style was a winner. I just wanted a fuller train and as such the under layers of the gown were left longer creating an absolutely stunning flow behind me with every step I took. Having a garden ceremony and silk lined marquee reception, the soft flow of the gown was perfectly matched to the theme of our wedding. The dress is in perfect condition and was dry cleaned immediately after being worn and has been kept in its original bag since. I will be sad to say goodbye to such a sentimental part of our day but I hope someone will get to enjoy and love it as much as I did.
