The Dress
MUST SELL! MAKE AN OFFER! relocating abroad, final sale!
Official Description: Aria is a bohemian style dress with sheer super positioning of lace and textures. The top is a half corseted front. The skirt has a very high open front slit and it is made of a light combination of silk tulle and delicate French lace. The opening in the front of the skirt reveals an under mini-skirt made of embroidered tulle. It is a ball gown and has off the shoulder sleeves. It has a Basque waist and the colors of the dress are a combination of blush, ivory and silver.
My description: Aria is from the “Les Reves Bohemians” Spring 2016 collection and was made to order in Fall 16. It is a haute couture, hand-made, stunning piece of art. It was the first of only two dresses I tried on to know this was “THE DRESS.” Whether you are having a large wedding reception or an elopement with just the two of you, this is the dress of your life (at least that’s how I felt on my wedding day!). I was told by guests it was the most unusual and beautiful gown they have seen. The official listing says blush and ivory but I would say it is a very light ivory/off-white and the blush is just a hint, not pink at all.
Fit: This dress is highly flattering and makes your waist look very small. There is inner boning and a bodysuit that holds everything in. No difficult buttons to fuss with, no additional corset or special undergarments needed, not even spanx …! The slit goes up high but the inner mini skirt prevents any mishaps and the dress is just the right amount of sexy. I also had the inner skirt of my dress lined (in nude fabric so the lace detail is still highlighted). The dress is unexpectedly light and comfortable to dance in all night and the split in the front prevents any stepping on the dress while walking so the train is in excellent condition.
I am 5’6 and wore 4’’ heels. I had no special fit alterations, I estimate it at a street size 4/6, see Stillwhite.com sizing chart for measurements. I can send you my personal measurements if needed too if you like. I am 32D bust but you can add in padding if you want to fill in the bust or have the cups taken in/out as needed by a seamstress. The boning can also be taken in/out.
Alterations: Lined the under skirt in nude fabric, snap added for overskirt for optional added coverage and snaps added to bodysuit for easy bathroom trip :) Bustle already added (french style) with multiple pickups should you want to bustle the train.
What I paid: in bridal salons, this dress currently retails for $8,800. I paid $6,900 with a trunk show discount plus shipping ($75) and flat fee alterations from the bridal salon ($250) for a total cost of $7,225. I have all receipts. I also had it professionally cleaned (by wedding gown specialists, not your run of the mill dry-cleaner). I did not have it "preserved" because that uses unnecessary chemicals and I'm hoping someone out there will get to use this again!
Feel free to email with any questions you have. I'm happy to share my specific measurements.
