The Dress

The Agadir is an incredible hand made French lace dress, made in Paris by the design house Cymbeline. This one has had custom embellishments applied by a world class dressmaker, making it currently the only dress of this exact design and style currently available in the world.

This was my dream dress in terms of finding the perfect balance between traditional fabric and modern tailoring, blending classic lines with contemporary sparkle. I fell in love with the stunning French Alencon lace and simply could not go past it, however it was more revealing than I wanted so I had a new dress customised - creating a sheer back and elegant cap sleeves. (The original cut was a very sexy open back halterneck, which isn't exactly what I wanted on my wedding day.)

The dress is in a size 8 (AU/ UK) and the topper (constructed as part of the dress now) is in ivory colour to match the dress. The crystals are Swarovski and have been applied across the bodice area and also crystal buttons go down the back. The fabric at the front is sheer, at the back is semi sheer (lined with a flesh coloured fabric). The dress has a bustle and was easy to wear - enabling the use of a nude bra, and very light and easy to move in.

An Anna Campbell belt (Freya) and matching headpiece are also available for purchase by separate negotiation. Both worn once only.

“Agadir, a stunning gown from the award, exemplifies Cymbeline’s unique style. Multiple tiers of alençon lace flow gracefully over a silk charmeuse lining. The flattering sheath widens to a slight mermaid, with a chapel train. The color of the gown is called “Candle light”. I would describe it as a dark ivory. Alterations have been made as follows:
1) sheer topper added to the front and back of the dress and the fastening changed from halterneck to button up
2) topper embellished with Swarovski crystals and original lace to match the dress
3) lace cap sleeves added in original lace
4) swarovski crystal buttons added to the back of the topper
5) bustle button added
